Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Pho)

Bangkok’s oldest temple was built in the XVI century. The main attraction of Wat Pho is the gigantic statue of a Reclining Buddha, 46 meters long and 15 meters high. The body is covered with gold leaf and the eyes and footsteps are encrusted with mother of pearl. The chapel – or ubosot – houses another statue of Buddha in the pediment of which the ashes of king Rama I are interred.

Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha

The Grand Palace is located in the historical center of Bangkok. One of its temples houses a Golden chedi and another a big bowl with holy water. Thais believe that if you put a lily into the water, sprinkle some over yourself and make a wish it will come true. The changing of the guard at the Grand Palace is a 100% must-see. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha is used for ceremonies and holidays attended by HM the King, and this is the only place in the Palace where photo and video shooting is not allowed.

Bangkok’s canals and Temple of Dawn (Wat Arum)

The easiest way to see all major tourist attractions of the Thai capital is to take a boat tour along the Chao Phraya River. You will see the Chinatown, floating market, the Temple of Dawn and will have a chance to feed catfish.

Jewel Factory

Here you may buy exclusive gold and silver items as well as precious and semiprecious stones.

Baiyoke Sky Viewpoint

Enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views of Bangkok from the observation decks on the 77th and 84th floors of one of the Asia’s tallest high-rise hotels, the Baiyoke Sky. You will also be offered dinner in the restaurant on the 77th floor.
