Thailand climbed up six spots to 21st out of 190 countries in the World Bank’s 2020 Ease of Doing Business Report. This year, the country scored 80.1, the highest result in the past six years. The Kingdom showed a big improvement in dealing with construction permits by reducing 19 procedures to 14 and wait time for approval from 118 days to 113 days, leaping 33 places to 34th spot. The country also excelled in protecting minority investors, where it ranked 3rd, up from 15th. According to the survey, the top 10 best destinations in the world to do business are New Zealand (86.8 out of 100), Singapore (86.2), Hong Kong SAR, China (85.3), Denmark (85.3), the Republic of Korea (84), the USA (84), Georgia (83.7), the United Kingdom (83.5), Norway (82.6), and Sweden (82).
