Khao Yai is Thailand’s first officially established national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also second largest in the country covering the total area of about 2000squarekilometers most of which administratively belong to Nakhon Ratchasima province. We invite you on a 3 hour guided walk around the park. You will visit the most impressive waterfalls: Hoe Suwat famous for being a filming location of The Beach movie and the gorgeous 50 meters high Heo Narok. Khao Yai is home to over 300 pieces of plants, 320 species of birds and 66 species of mammals including Asiatic black bears, elephants, gaurs, gibbons, spotted deer, macaques, Warri gals or wild boars. And this is not just a ‘copy-paste’ from an Encyclopedia: during your journey you can see monitor lizards crossing the road, deer families grazing upon lawns, elks peacefully wallowing in thick grass at arm’s length. Or a band of chimpanzees with the alpha male climbing down the tree to express his irritation at the car noise. Weirdly painted bird with long beaks and tails will be flying over your head and large elephants will be pensively chewing their lunch just off the road. Lucky animals who were born in Khao Yai!
